Managers at all levels must:

• Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to HSE, and set a personal example.
• Expect and encourage discussions on HSE.
• Make decisions consistent with the group HSE Policy.
• Implement the Group HSE management system.
• Contribute to group and business targets and programmes, and set local HSE targets and programmes.
• Monitor HSE performance regularly and review the effectiveness of the HSE management system.
• Allocate and develop people and budget to deliver improvements.
• Engage with stakeholders on HSE.
• Recognise and reward positive behaviours and achievements.
• Apply a fair process for managing the consequences for those involved in incidents.
• Encourage a high level of trust and openness.

All Senior Managers must:

• Take accountability for the effective implementation of the Group HSE Policy and management system.
• Ensure availability of sufficient people, technology and budget to effectively implement and maintain the HSE management system.
• Integrate HSE into decision making and organisational change.
• Establish and provide sponsorship for risk based improvement programmes.

The Chief Executive authorises our Group HSE Policy. The Executive Board, on behalf of the main board:

• Maintains governance and oversight of HSE management and performance.
• Monitors the effectiveness of HSE risk management.
• Enables a business environment that supports effective HSE management.
