Under existing legislation, employees also have obligations regarding the use of hazardous substances in the workplace.
- To co-operate with your employer and observe the control measures put in place for your safety.
- To wear and maintain suitable PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as appropriate.
- To inform your manager of any defects in equipment or processes. Reporting defects allows for immediate rectification.
- To store dangerous substances in any special accommodation provided.
- To participate in any health surveillance checks during working hours if required. You are also entitled to have access to your health surveillance record.
